National Historic Lighthouse Preservation Program

 

The National Historic Lighthouse Preservation Program was launched on June 10, 2002. This program authorizes the no-cost transfer of historic lighthouses and stations from the U.S. Coast Guard to various federal, local and non-profit organizations. Nearly 300 lighthouses are currently recommended for transfer.
